The Universal Muslim Association of America (UMAA) expresses its deepest sorrow and strongest condemnation over the recent terrorist attack on Shia Muslims in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. On November 21st, gunmen opened fire on buses carrying Shia Muslims from Peshawar to Parachinar, resulting in the tragic loss of 42 innocent lives, including women and children, and injuring over 30 others.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the grieving families and mourn the loss of the martyrs. This heinous attack is part of a series of brutal killings targeting the Shia community in Parachinar this year, and we urge the Government of Pakistan to take immediate action to end these senseless atrocities.
We specifically demand that President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqui:
1. Provide urgent support to the victims and their families, including medical care and financial aid.
2. Guarantee the safety and security of Shia Muslims in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by implementing enhanced protection measures to prevent future attacks.
3. Take strong and immediate action against the perpetrators, holding them accountable for their crimes and ensuring justice for the victims and their families.
Shia Muslims have faced oppression and violence for far too long, and UMAA stands in solidarity with the Shia community in Parachinar during this painful time. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the martyrs, and we pray that Allah (SWT) grants them the patience and strength to bear this immense loss.
We pray that Allah (SWT) hastens the reappearance of our 12th Imam Mahdi (ATFS) to bring justice and peace to all, and protects the Muslim Ummah in Pakistan and around the world from disunity.
