Washington DC – In light of the latest aggressive military actions between Israel and Iran, UMAA expresses profound alarm and grave concern for the escalating tensions that jeopardize regional stability, ongoing diplomatic efforts, and the lives of U.S. military personnel in the Middle East. We strongly condemn the aggressive and illegal actions of the Israeli regime.
These aggressive actions come at a critical time when the United States was actively engaged in negotiations with Iran. Israel’s attack profoundly jeopardizes that delicate deal and, critically, places the lives of U.S. Military personnel in the region at increased risk. We are praying that these actions do not lead to a wider war and that cooler heads will prevail for the sake of innocent people in both countries. These actions disrupt the peace process that Presi- dent Trump has engaged in over the past few months, and demonstrate a clear lack of respect for the United States.
The path to stability and security lies in robust diplomacy and de-escalation, not in further military confrontation. We urge all parties to immediately cease hostile actions and commit to a peaceful resolution through negotiation. The international com- munity must exert immense pressure to facilitate dialogue and prevent a full-scale regional war, the humanitarian and geopoliti- cal consequences of which would be catastrophic and irreversible.
